Duration: 80 Hours (40 hours in class, 40 hours in externship)

 
This 80-hour Phlebotomy Training Program is designed to provide students with the essential knowledge and practical skills required to become a certified Phlebotomy Technician in California. The course adheres to state guidelines and prepares students for the National Certification Exam.

 

Course Objectives:

  • Develop proficiency in venipuncture and capillary puncture techniques.

  • Understand anatomy and physiology related to the circulatory system.

  • Learn infection control procedures, specimen handling, and patient interaction.

  • Gain hands-on practice in a clinical setting under the supervision of certified instructors.

  • Classroom Instruction (40 Hours): Covers theoretical knowledge, including medical terminology, infection control, and patient preparation. 5 days in the classroom. 

  • Hands-On Training (40 Hours): Practical skills development with high-quality training equipment and real-world clinical experience. 40 hours (5-15 days in total) at our clinical lab with patients.

  • Certification Preparation: Guidance and materials for passing the National Phlebotomy Certification Exam. You will take the national exam at our location.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).

  • Basic proficiency in English (reading, writing, and speaking).

 

Certification Outcome:
Upon successful completion of the course and passing the National Certification Exam, graduates are eligible to apply for California State Certification as a Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT-1).

Tuition: Includes textbooks, practice supplies, exam preparation materials, and clinical externship fees.

Booking Your Class Date: The date you select is when your program starts and when you'll attend class in person (day 1 of 5 classes in person). You'll have 5 consecutive days, Monday-Friday (on the day you choose from the drop-down menu) of in-person class attendance, followed by 5-15 days of clinical at our lab practicing your skills on real patients. 

 

Class starts at 9am.

 

Clinical Schedule: Your externship days will be scheduled as you near the end of your in-person class.
