LA Fire Card proudly offer the #1 rated IV Therapy & Blood Withdrawal (IVBW) class in Southern California, officially certified by the California Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians (BVNPT).

Open to All: Anyone over the age of 18 can enroll in this course — you do not need to be an RN or LVN to attend. All students who complete the course will receive a Certificate of Completion for 36 Contact Hours (CEUs) approved by the California BRN. Licensed RNs and LVNs will gain the legal authorization to insert IVs and draw blood in accordance with California regulations upon course completion.
 

This comprehensive 36-hour in-person course is designed for healthcare professionals looking to enhance their skills in intravenous therapy and blood withdrawal procedures. The program utilizes in-person practice and instruction, and a certification test to ensure a thorough understanding and hands-on experience.

4-Day IV & Blood Withdrawal (IVBW) Intensive – Hands-On Focus

• 4 full days of immersive, in-person training

• Balanced format: focused theory + extensive live practice every day

IV Therapy - 2 Days 9am to 6pm

• Evidence-based IV theory and safety principles

• Instructor-led lectures, learning activities, and skills videos

• Test-Your-Knowledge quizzes to reinforce concepts

• Six (6) hours of IV practice (including mannequins and fellow classmates) to build technique and confidence

• 3 successful IV insertions on 3 different classmates

  • Practice on real veins, varying anatomy, skin tone, and vein depth

  • Repetition designed to improve accuracy, speed, and comfort

Blood Withdrawal - 2 days 9am to 6pm

• Blood collection theory, infection control, and legal standards

• Interactive lectures, activities, and instructional videos

• Six (6) hours of hands-on practice (including mannequins and fellow classmates)

• 3 fingerstick collections

• 3 venipunctures on 3 different classmates

Instructor:
The course is taught by a highly qualified Registered ICU Nurse (RN) and Licensed Certified Phlebotomist (CPT I) with extensive experience in clinical and educational settings.

RNs will receive a Certificate of Completion and 36 CEUs (RNs are already licensed to place IVs and draw blood). 

LVN BVNPT License: Are you an LVN that wants to register your certificate with the BVNPT and legally be licensed and able to start IVs and draw blood? Add on $50; pay when you get to class.
 

What happens after I register?

You will be sent a confirmation email with more information about your class and appear at the classroom on the dates you selected for registration from 9am to 6pm each day.
