Service Description
The FASTEST way to get your MAB and CPI certifications! No online class, no test, no quiz. Information is sent to you via email for self-study. Note: The class does not occur at 11AM SPT. The time slot is simply to create the registration. Upon registering, we will contact you via text to assist you in starting the course. PLUS we will mail your certification cards via USPS Priority Mail and provide a tracking number! The certificates of completion are valid for 1 year and offers 16 Continuing Education Credits or CEUs total. This class is certified by the ACPMA (American Crisis Prevention & Management Association) a California state and nationally recognized certification company. LA Fire Card’s MAB/CPI course is not affiliated with any other company offering MAB or CPI courses. The CPI Card is NOT the "CPI Blue Card." Be sure to contact your school, facility, hospital, staffing agency, etc. to verify that this course is accepted prior to registering and paying for the course. The MAB and CPI course is designed for individuals working within healthcare and emergency medical services fields. This course teaches the healthcare and emergency medical services professionals the techniques to use when dealing with the potentially assaultive client. Students will understand and have the ability to recognize potentially dangerous situations and the tools to de-escalate situations prior to any physical intervention or assault. Physical intervention skills are taught through simulation and role-play. Topics Covered: General Safety Measures Personal Safety Measures Assault Cycle Aggression and Violence Prediction Obtaining Patient History from a patient with a violent behavior Character of Aggressive and Violent Patients and Victims Verbal Maneuvers to Diffuse and Avoid Violent Behavior Physical Maneuvers to Diffuse and Avoid Violent Behavior Strategies to Avoid Physical Harm Restraining Techniques Appropriate Use of Medications as Chemical Restraints Employee Resources This course is intended for professional providers in a wide variety of settings including but not limited to LVN’s, CNA’s, RN’s, EMTs and First Responders, Psychiatric Technicians, among other healthcare providers.
