Service Description

Complete the CPI class online at your leisure. The course consists of 7 modules that include, videos, slides and intermittent exams. Upon completion of the online class, you will receive your card the SAME DAY (if within business hours) or within 24 hours as a picture with your name, issue date and expiration date printed on it and the hardcopy card mailed to you. The card is valid for 1 year and offers 8 Continuing Education Credits or CEUs. Once you submit your payment, you will receive a link (during business hours) to complete the online class. PLEASE ALLOW UP TO 12 HOURS TO RECEIVE THE LINK. This class is certified by the ACPMA (American Crisis Prevention and Management Association). You have 21 days to complete the class online. This course is certified by the ACPMA (American Crisis Prevention & Management Association) a California state and nationally recognized certification company. LA Fire Card’s CPI course is not affiliated with any other company offering CPI courses. Be sure to contact your school, facility, hospital, staffing agency, etc. to verify that this course is accepted prior to registering and paying for the course. Crisis Prevention & Intervention course is designed for individuals working within healthcare and emergency medical services fields. This course teaches the healthcare and emergency medical services professionals the techniques to use when dealing with the potentially assaultive client. Students will understand and have the ability to recognize potentially dangerous situations and the tools to de-escalate situations prior to any physical intervention or assault. Physical intervention skills are taught through simulation and role-play. Topics Covered: General Safety Measures Personal Safety Measures Assault Cycle Aggression and Violence Prediction Obtaining Patient History from a patient with a violent behavior Character of Aggressive and Violent Patients and Victims Verbal Maneuvers to Diffuse and Avoid Violent Behavior Physical Maneuvers to Diffuse and Avoid Violent Behavior Strategies to Avoid Physical Harm Restraining Techniques Appropriate Use of Medications as Chemical Restraints Employee Resources This course is intended for professional providers in a wide variety of settings including but not limited to LVN’s, CNA’s, RN’s, EMTs and First Responders, Psychiatric Technicians, among other healthcare providers. Note: The fee is non-refundable for the class.

BE ADVISED BEFORE REGISTERING AND SUBMITTING PAYMENT, THERE IS 100% NO CIRCUMSTANCE WHERE A REFUND WILL BE ISSUED (including student cancellations, company cancellations, "Acts of God", natural disasters, state of emergency, terrorism, global or national pandemic, "change of heart", student discovery of no need or desire to take a class, obtain a service or product, etc. The deposit and/or fee holds your seat for the class. You also acknowledge that you have read and understand the Class Description for the class for which you have registered and that you have registered for the appropriate class. You may contact LA Fire Card at any time with questions about a class before registering, but once you pay for the class, all fees are non-refundable. You agree to read the Confirmation and Reminder Emails emailed to the email address you provided in their entirety, and are responsible for the information included in those emails. You agree to have LA Fire Card debit your bank account for the class amount via PayPal or other 3rd party systems, and you authorize the transaction by entering in your contact and banking information at the time of registration. You are responsible for providing and/or updating your correct contact information during and after class registration as needed (email address, mailing address, phone number) so that you may receive correspondence in a timely manner. STUDENT CODE OF CONDUCT: If you are found to be disrespectful (verbal, written and electronic communications included) or disruptive to the staff, instructors or students at anytime before, during or after the class you will be in violation of the Student Code of Conduct and you will be asked to leave the class immediately, prevented from enrolling in future classes and all fees paid and certifications will be forfeited.
