Once you register, within 24 hours look for an EMAIL from "noreply@exambuilder.com" to begin the self paced class. ________ Complete the MAB class online at your leisure. The course consists of electronic book and open book exam. Once you pass the exam, you will be able to download, save and/or print your own certificate of completion. The certificate is valid for 1 year and offers 8 Continuing Education Credits or CEUs. The MAB course is valid for AB 508 and 8 Continuing Education Credits (or CEUs). LA Fire Card’s MAB course is not affiliated with any other company offering MAB courses. Be sure to contact your school, facility, hospital, staffing agency, etc. to verify that this course is accepted prior to registering and paying for the course. You have 30 days to complete the class. Management of Assaultive Behavior aka AB 508 course is designed for individuals working within healthcare and emergency medical services fields. This course teaches the healthcare and emergency medical services professionals the techniques to use when dealing with the potentially assaultive client. Students will understand and have the ability to recognize potentially dangerous situations and the tools to de-escalate situations prior to any physical intervention or assault. Physical intervention skills are taught through simulation and role-play. Topics Covered: General Safety Measures Personal Safety Measures Assault Cycle Aggression and Violence Prediction Obtaining Patient History from a patient with a violent behavior Character of Aggressive and Violent Patients and Victims Verbal Maneuvers to Diffuse and Avoid Violent Behavior Physical Maneuvers to Diffuse and Avoid Violent Behavior Strategies to Avoid Physical Harm Restraining Techniques Appropriate Use of Medications as Chemical Restraints Employee Resources This course is intended for professional providers in a wide variety of settings including but not limited to LVN’s, CNA’s, RN’s, EMTs and First Responders, Psychiatric Technicians, among other healthcare providers.
