The FASTEST way to get your CPI certification! No online class, no test, no quiz. Information is sent to you via email for self-study. Upon registration, you will receive your certificate of completion the SAME DAY (if within business hours) or within 24 hours as a picture with your name, issue date and expiration date printed on it. The certificate is valid for 1 year and offers 8 Continuing Education Credits or CEUs. LA Fire Card’s CPI course is not affiliated with any other company offering CPI courses. Be sure to contact your school, facility, hospital, staffing agency, etc. to verify that this course is accepted prior to registering and paying for the course. Crisis Prevention & Intervention course is designed for individuals working within healthcare and emergency medical services fields. This course teaches the healthcare and emergency medical services professionals the techniques to use when dealing with the potentially assaultive client. Students will understand and have the ability to recognize potentially dangerous situations and the tools to de-escalate situations prior to any physical intervention or assault. Physical intervention skills are taught through simulation and role-play. Topics Covered: General Safety Measures Personal Safety Measures Assault Cycle Aggression and Violence Prediction Obtaining Patient History from a patient with a violent behavior Character of Aggressive and Violent Patients and Victims Verbal Maneuvers to Diffuse and Avoid Violent Behavior Physical Maneuvers to Diffuse and Avoid Violent Behavior Strategies to Avoid Physical Harm Restraining Techniques Appropriate Use of Medications as Chemical Restraints Employee Resources This course is intended for professional providers in a wide variety of settings including but not limited to LVN’s, CNA’s, RN’s, EMTs and First Responders, Psychiatric Technicians, among other healthcare providers.
